Staycation at Hotel Figueroa

Over my 25th birthday, I had the immense pleasure of staycationing at the Hotel Figueroa — located within the heart of DTLA – close to … well, everything. Basically walking distance to the best shops and restaurants in the city.
When we pulled up, valet kindly parked our car. Valet parking was so convenient cos we all know how insane (and expensive) the parking in downtown can get. We were given the cutest set of keys to our room. So cute, that I wanted to keep it as souvenir but unfortunately I couldn’t, so a photo must do.
Jazz music welcomes you into the lobby, which is adorned with velvet couches, Spanish contemporary design and the best pattern mixing I’ve ever seen in my life. In fact, I could learn a thing or two from their decor! So good thing I took notes!
Upon entering the room, the first thing I noticed was the beautiful bathroom. Talk about #BathroomGoals.

Seriously. The whole vibe of the room was cozy and homey, making it hard for me to get out of bed the next day. We were given the ‘King Suite’ room, with an inviting King-sized bed and the most beautiful bed frame I’ve seen, a comforter that felt like I was sleeping on a cloud and a roomy working station which I certainly took advantage of.

5 reasons you should book a staycation
REASON#1 Sometimes a break from your daily routine is the very thing you need. A staycation allows you to experience your city from a whole new perspective that you would have never known if you didn’t treat yourself!
REASON#2 There’s no real “travel” involved, and by that I mean you can go ahead and skip the overwhelming airport lines, annoying pee breaks on the plane, bus and train rides, or too long of a car ride. Don’t get me wrong I love flying and being in transit and all, but airports, security, Ubering from one place to the next, etc. – it can all get a bit overwhelming at some point. When you’re on staycation you completely forget all about that.
Going on a trip. Need about 5 outfits. I’ve packed 35 just to be safe 😅
