Travel Sereies : When In Baler
To those who don't know my sister, Isa just turned 30 and she decided to celebrate her birthday in Baler. But not just the typical weekend in the beach kind of celebration but surprisingly for a month. Yup! you read it right! A month. It's always been my sister's bucket list to stay in an island for that long and she finally was able to check it off her bucket list. I'm so proud of you Ats (that's what I call her)
My sister is one of the most influential people in my life, to be honest majority of the decisions I've made was because of her. The reason why I'm in the design and art industry is mainly because of her since she introduced it to me at an early stage and since then my love for design and arts have just grown fonder. And now, not just arts but also the love for the sea. She takes me to places I could've never imagined, places that makes me realize how big the world is and that is why I now have a travel series here in my blog. I guess it's safe to say that my sister plays a huge role in my entire life up to this very day and now this blog post is a small gesture of my gratitude as I document her amazing and beautiful life in Baler for a month. Though, I wasn't able to stay there for that long, she was able to sum-up her daily routine in 3-days and my, my, my it was incredible. And take note, It was all our first time in Baler and gosh I'm so grateful for this island we have that we can call our home. I definitely have plans on coming back.
The drive is quite long and when I mean quite long, around 7-8 hours drive. So if any of you plan to take a trip there, buckle up cause it's going to be a long ride. But mind you, Baler is worth the visit. Especially to those surfers and to the people who's hearts belong to the sea.
I've always had a tingling feet, I can never stay still in one place. Regardless if I'm in the city or not, I can never stay put. The sole of my shoes refuses to stay in the ground and I crave the air beneath my feet. That's when I realize that a home is not only where the heart is but also where my feet lies upon.
Caught someone Instagrammin'
On our first day, right after settling in Aliya's Hotel my sister took us for a walk by the beach. It was absolutely beautiful, the weather was perfect, the air was blowing through our spines. I've lost for words in my mouth to describe the feeling this island gives me. It's times like this when I realize how beautiful our Island is 💛 and this is just one of them, what about the 7,106 more. This is one of the reasons why I love to travel - to get inspired.
No wonder my sister wanted to stay her for a month, who wouldn't? Imagine to wake up to a place like this every single day of you life. The sunrise would be the first thing you'll see in the morning and the sunset would be the last and the best part about it, it's in this kind of view. It wasn't only us who enjoyed the walk but as well as our dogs, Minnie and Bugs.
Moments later, our bellies started to growl so we decided to grab something to eat. My sister took us to one of the finest resorts in Baler - Costa Pacifica. The place was amazing, the dream resort you could ever dreamed of. We had our late lunch there, the food was delicious. As my mom would say, "the best nacho macho ever!" and I couldn't agree with her more. It was definitely one fine nachos. Happy belly right here!
I made it a point to wear my Pineapple dress from @Perfectfitshop_ph you guys should definitely check out. Plus my sea blue neckalace from @Shop400lux. These colors are just the perfect summer colors to wear.
When I saw my sister, I have to admit, I was surprised how dark she really got. I almost mistook her as a local. But beneathe the skin color and some surfing/bike scars, she had this glow, a glow that I've never seen before. She was truly happy with life, as if she could just hug the universe. That's how happy she was. Everyday my sister would take this bike to get to one place to another. Regardless if it was crazy early or late at night she would go with her everyday routine with a smile on her face. In a span of 2-weeks she was able to make so many friends as if it was already her home. I saw in my sister's eyes the true meaning of happiness and to that I salute you sista! I can't believe this was just day 1.
Stay tuned with Day 2 - coming out tomorrow!
