You can never go wrong with basic - White Kicks
I strongly believe everyone should have atleast one pair of white sneakers. Why, you may ask? Because it's one of the colors that goes well with anything including black and beige. These are the colors that you'll be needing in your wardobe where it'll be easier for you to get dressed every morning, and we all know how hard it is for us girls.
So here's a quick story about this pair of sneakers that is relevant to my title, you'll see why. Truth be told, this is not my first pair. I used to have one from Cotton On, got it when they opened here a few years back. I actually bought the basic colors since they had a promo 2 for 1200Php. So all the sneakers were perfectly fine aside from the white one. I observed that the white one was turning a bit yellow-ish through time but they say it's normal, but I constantly wonder why there were other white sneakers I would see people wearing that are still not so far from the original color. Then I realize that maybe it was the material used. But that didn't stop me from wearing it since it was already there, purchased.
Then an event came, which was 7107 where my sister went, and you know what sisters do right? They borrow each others' stuff without asking permission. I hate it, but I do it as well (guilty). Anyways long story short, she lost it. We don't know how or where but it was just gone and I didn't want to cry over spilled milk, so I moved on and went through everyday having the difficuly in what I'll be wearing every morning till the birks-inspired sandals came out and they were just comfy and easy to style with. I was doing fine till one morning as I was getting dressed, I realized that the perfect footwear for this outfit was white sneakers and I had none, so right then and there, I realized I needed to buy one right away. So I dedicated one whole day to look for one in the mall. You may think it's easy to look for one, but trust me, it's not.
So here's a tip if ever you guys plan to buy one, just so you won't make the same mistakes I did and this will save your time as well.
Landmark - They do have white sneakers but not this type, they have the slip ons one and there is not much options and when I say not much I mean one. (Price 300php below)
Forever 21 - Sadly they didn't have at all. I guess it's not this season.
Payless, Glorietta 1 - As I recall they used to have, so we tried to go for it but as I was checking their shoe rack, the sales lady told me they pulled it out already, so all Payless branches don't have it anymore. So don't bother.
H&M - They had white sneakers but no sizes from size 8 below. (Price 599Php)
SM, Ayala - So SM had a lot of variety of sneakers of course, knowing that they dedicated one whole floor just for shoes for women, but just not the one I was looking for. White, and if they did, they lacked sizes (size 8 and below) But just when I was going to give up, when we took the elevator (which was glass) and clicked Ground level, and there Miggy saw a shoe stall in the middle of the lower ground level which is where all the restaurants are. I found this love in an item and it was a perfect fit like Cinderella, well it felt like that - meant to be.
...and did I mention it's just 199Php!
